“We all know the importance of the manufacturing industry here in Central New York – serving as one of the main drivers of our economic engine. In honor of Manufacturing Day, we recognize the enormous role this industry has here, as well as the need to fill the growing number of good-paying, vacant positions with a highly trained workforce.

“In an effort to bridge this middle-skills gap, I’m working on a measure to provide the specialized training needed to prepare more students for advanced manufacturing jobs. This way we can help more students and job seekers land jobs right out of the gate, helping boost our thriving manufacturing business and strengthen the state’s economy.”
