“Our students deserve an outstanding education that prepares them to meet tomorrow’s challenges and excel in the 21st century economy. That’s why I am proud to announce that the Assembly budget proposal includes an increase of more than $2 billion in education aid over last year. The proposal would also fully restore the Gap Elimination Adjustment and increase foundation aid by over $1 billion for our schools. An investment of this size could help to close the budget gap many schools are facing and prevent the elimination of programs and services that are essential to our kids’ education.”
