Assemblyman Stirpe Announces New Healthcare Laws Take Effect January 1st

“There are many good reasons to be eager to put 2020 behind us and start a new year, and one of them is the set of new laws going into effect in 2021 that will help rein in medical expenses for many people. I’m especially proud to have passed a measure that caps the price of insulin at $100 per month, which should be a tremendous help to those with diabetes. Additionally, a second measure will ensure COVID-19 related inpatient and emergency services are covered by insurance (Ch. 56 of 2020). Both of these new laws go into effect January 1st. This pandemic has highlighted the need to ensure basic, everyday medical services remain affordable for Central New York families, and I’ll keep fighting for healthcare solutions like these in the coming legislative term.”
