Assemblywoman Amy Paulin has been named to the Center for Women Policy Studies’ National Honor Roll of State Legislators in recognition of her commitment to women’s human rights.

Assemblywoman Paulin is one of more than 400 state legislators nationwide who have been invited to join the Center’s honor roll of lawmakers who have demonstrated their dedication to women’s issues. "We are pleased to welcome Assemblywoman Paulin to the Honor Roll," Center President Leslie R. Wolfe said. "I know that New York women are helped by her determination, knowledge and political skills." The Center is a national nonprofit policy research and advocacy organization based in Washington, D. C.

"I am honored to have been chosen to join with other legislators across the nation as we work to improve the economic status, health and well-being of women and girls in our states," said Assemblywoman Paulin. "I know that many women still lack access to education, job training, work that pays a living wage, health care and quality child care. I’ve been involved with these issues since I was in college and I intend to keep on fighting for them."

Legislators who join the National Honor Roll pledge to endorse the Center’s "Contract with Women of the USA." The Contract’s twelve principles include: empowerment of women, sharing family responsibilities, ending the burden of poverty, affordable health care, sexual and reproductive rights, workplace rights, educational equity, ending violence against women, protecting the environment, supporting women as peace makers, honoring international commitments to end discrimination against women and developing a long-term national plan to implement the Contract’s principles.
