Tarrytown – Assemblywoman Amy Paulin is proud to announce that she will be inducted into The Westchester Women’s Hall of Fame in a noon ceremony on May 12th at the DoubleTree by Hilton (455 South Broadway, Tarrytown).

Paulin, who has represented the 88th Assembly District since 2001, has been recognized as a champion of women’s rights and has worked tirelessly to bring an end to discrimination of all kinds. The Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act, her signature piece of legislation, has been instrumental in curtailing human trafficking in New York. Other laws she has passed to help women include strengthening orders of protection for victims of domestic violence, eliminating the statute of limitations on rape, and strengthening laws to prevent female genital mutilation in our state. In addition, she has authored legislation to prohibit marriage of a minor under the age of 17.

“I am honored and humbled to be receiving this prestigious award,” Paulin said. “I am in the company of extraordinary women whose lives of purpose have given women everywhere the hope, tools and opportunities they need to succeed and lead productive lives. I have dedicated my life to public service and will continue to serve in any way possible to advance a progressive agenda for women. I would like to thank the Women’s Research and Education Fund as well as the YMCA of White Plains and Central Westchester for bestowing upon me this very special honor.”

Prior to her time in the Assembly, Paulin served as the Executive Director of My Sisters’ Place, chairwoman of the Westchester Women’s Agenda, president of the Westchester League of Women Voters, vice president of the NYS League of Women Voters and as a citizen member of the County Task Force for Women and Youth at Risk. She has received numerous awards and honors including being named NYS Legislator of the Year by the National Organization for Women (NOW) of NYS, a Leader in the Fight Against Domestic Violence by the NYS Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV) and an Ally Award from NYS Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NYSCASA).
