Beephan on 2025 State of The State: ‘Misses the Mark’
A Statement from Assemblyman Anil Beephan (R,C-East Fishkill)
“Governor Hochul’s State of the State address finally touched on critical issues like affordability, public safety, and transportation — issues that Albany has ignored for far too long. While I welcome proposals for tax cuts, inflation relief, and expanded childcare access, New Yorkers need more than promises. The delay — and hopefully a permanent hal t— of her damaging Cap-and-Invest proposal is a step in the right direction. On public safety, long-overdue measures like fixing discovery law loopholes, increasing mental health treatment, and improving subway safety with police patrols are necessary to restore law and order. I am also encouraged by plans to reduce Hudson Valley commute times and upgrade train stations. I stand ready to work with the governor and my colleagues to deliver real solutions that lower costs, protect families, and create a stronger New York.”
