Manktelow Announces Libraries To Receive State Aid

Assemblyman Brian Manktelow (R,C,I-Lyons) is announcing three libraries in the 130th Assembly District will be receiving State Aid for Library Construction. The program allocates funds to libraries in urgent need of renovating, upgrading and expanding to better serve their communities. In total, the 130th Assembly District will be receiving more than $125,000 for three local libraries, including the replacement of an old HVAC system in the Weedsport Free Library, subdividing the main room of the Ontario Public Library, and two capital projects at the Palmyra Community Library.

“It is great to see an investment in our local libraries by the state. In our rural communities, the libraries offer more than books. Oftentimes the local library is a meeting place for community groups, a place for families to access the internet, or a place for a child to feel safe. They truly are a gift to each resident, and I applaud the state for investing in our libraries as the assets they truly are.” Said Manktelow
