Woerner Ensures Members of Veterans’ Orgs Can Still Play Bell Jar Games
Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (D-Round Lake) announced the recent signing of her bill, A.7475-B, into law. This bill authorizes organizations, such as Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFWs) and American Legion posts, the use of electronic Bell Jar vending machines in their establishments. “I thank Governor Hochul for recognizing the value these modern, electronic versions of the classic “Bell Jar” machines bring to the fundraising done by Veterans groups,” said Assemblywoman Woerner.
“After visiting some of the VFWs and American Legions in my district, I learned how much their members enjoy Bell Jar games. Players know that even if they lose, their fellow comrades win, since the money earned from these games is typically used to improve other services Veterans’ organizations often provide, such as food pantries and clothing bins. I am grateful to Governor Hochul for enacting this legislation in mid-December. I’m always pleased to help our country’s former military service members, but I am especially happy to do so during the season known for games, good tidings, and joy,” said Assemblywoman Woerner.
