Friend: Binghamton University Must Strive To Foster Thoughtful Discourse And Free Speech

Statement from Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats)

“Binghamton University must work to better allow free speech on campus for all of their students, not just those who use intimidation and aggressive badgering to shut down what was a peaceful practice of free speech by conservative students. Encouraging all voices to be expressed and heard in our academic institutions would help these next generations learn to engage in respectful discourse. When our universities fail to do this, they fail to teach their students a useful life skill in civics.”
