Friend: New York State Must Take Action to Correct Public Safety Crisis

Statement from Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) on the State of the State

“Here’s the real State of New York: under complete Senate and Assembly Majority control radical leftists enacted reckless bail reforms which have left our communities vulnerable to violent criminals who face no immediate consequences for breaking the law. On a daily basis, we’ve seen those who have committed acts of domestic violence, hate crimes, assault and other serious crimes get arrested only to be immediately released back out into the public. I sponsor legislation to correct these misguided so-called reforms to the criminal justice system. This should be our very first action of this year.”
