- December 4, 2023 – At the Capitol advocating for local hospitals ahead of the upcoming legislative session.
- November 30, 2023 – Thank you Paulus Development for the remarkable transformation of the historic Endicott-Johnson Victory Factory into the Victory Lofts! No longer a symbol of our area’s decline, this building now stands as a symbol of progress; a symbol of what is possible when we work together to revitalize our community.
- November 29, 2023 – With fellow officials and EMS leaders celebrating the signing of “Direct-Pay” legislation to support local ambulance services. This will bring much-needed financial relief to these committed providers.
- November 28, 2023 – With Kenneth Roman and other library representatives announcing upcoming programming for the George F. Johnson Memorial Library’s Tech Center. I was glad to provide a $10K Assembly grant to help them purchase new laptops to support their efforts to address digital literacy.
- November 22, 2023 – Announcing the winner of the annual Thanksgiving Food Challenge. Congratulations to Team University for taking home the Golden Yam Can award. Together we brought in 14,000 meals for the community.
- November 20, 2023 – Supporting local agriculture with Commissioner Richard Ball at his annual Tree Cutting Ceremony.
- November 20, 2023 – With County Executive Garnar, Boscov’s CEO and President Jim Boscov, and Mayor Kraham celebrating major news for Boscov’s. I was able to secure a $5M Assembly grant to support much needed upgrades to the historical building owned by the City of Binghamton, helping Boscov’s decide to renew its lease for the next decade.
- November 16, 2023 – With representatives from the Public Utility Law Project of New York. We co-hosted a successful event with Senator Webb to connect the community to utility relief resources.
- November 10, 2023 – With Col Margolius celebrating the unveiling of the inaugural group of “Hometown Heroes.”
- November 9, 2023 – Joined local leaders in announcing the launch of another Thanksgiving Food Challenge, a friendly competition to raise non-perishable food donations for CHOW ahead of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
- November 6, 2023 – With Senator Lea Webb, County Executive Garnar, and the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Burr Truck of Vestal’s new offering of electric, battery-powered trucks from Volvo and Workhorse. We appreciate them contributing to a cleaner energy future.
- November 1, 2023 – Kicked off the 4th Annual Holiday Giving Box program, which helps supply local families with all the ingredients for a complete holiday dinner, including locally grown vegetables.
- October 24, 2023 – With community members showing support for a bill sponsored by Senator Webb and myself. If signed, it will allow Theodore Roosevelt Elementary to reconstruct the school in a much faster timeframe, saving money and limiting student disruption.
- October 23, 2023 – Celebrating the White House’s announcement that Binghamton University’s New Energy New York consortium was designated as America’s Tech Hub for Battery Innovation. This prestigious designation will lead to significant economic development for the area.
- October 20, 2023 – At the Broome County Sheriff’s Office announcing the signing of my legislation directing more resources to STOP DWI programs around the state.
- October 17, 2023 – With my colleagues at the retreat of the bi-partisan NYS Legislative Women’s Caucus. There are now 73 women State Senators and Assemblymembers out of 213 State Legislators total.
- October 13, 2023 – Participated in a statewide “Call to Action” in support of local EMS.
- October 9, 2023 – With fellow UNICO members at the 64th annual Columbus Day Parade in Binghamton. I’m very proud of my Italian heritage.
- October 5, 2023 – Helped unveil the new digital sign at the Johnson City Senior Center. The $20,000 Assembly grant I helped secure along with the one from County Executive Garnar and the County Legislature helped pay for the new sign and parking lot upgrades ahead of their 40th anniversary.
- October 5, 2023 – Joined Nobel Prize winner Dr. Stan Whittingham and the amazing NENY team for an update on their plans for the community to become a National Hub for Battery Innovation and Manufacturing.
- October 4, 2023 – At the Construction & Technology Career Day supported by the NYS DOT, the Broome County Highway Department, Broome-Tioga BOCES, and others. At this annual event, hundreds of high school students get hands-on experience with numerous construction trades.
- September 30, 2023 – Had the honor of meeting Onondaga Nation Representative Tony Gonyea at the Haudenosaunee Festival at Binghamton University.
- September 30, 2023 – Congratulating Triple Cities Makerspace on their 10th anniversary!
- September 20, 2023 – With Amy Wieber from Flaming Bag Food who was one of the winners at Broome CCE’s Fresh Food Face Off!
- September 15, 2023 – With Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger who claimed the school’s lost funds at an event hosted by Comptroller DiNapoli and Senator Lea Webb.
- September 15, 2023 – I joined the American Legion Post 1700 for their annual POW/MIA ceremony that honors the over 80,000 American service personnel who have not returned home.
- September 15, 2023 – With Sheri Dozier-Owens and Senator Lea Webb at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Breakfast. It’s always a great opportunity to interact with our local business community.
- September 11, 2023 – At the moving 9/11 ceremony in the beautiful Remembrance Garden at Highland Park.
- September 10, 2023 – With Pastor Janet Abel and others at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Senator Lea Webb and I passed a Legislative Resolution commemorating their 150th anniversary.
- September 8, 2023 – With LUMA co-founder Joshua Bernard getting a sneak peak of the festival. It was spectacular!
- September 3, 2023 – With New Leaf Cider Co. owner Dustin during their grand opening weekend. Very excited about Broome County’s first cidery.
- September 1, 2023 – With President Harvey Stenger, Director Anne Bailey and others for the dedication of the second marker on the Downtown Binghamton Freedom Trail at Mirabito Stadium. This marker honors Bud Fowler, one of the first Black professional baseball players in the United States.
- August 25, 2023 – At the UNICO booth during the annual Gusto Italian Festival.
- August 24, 2023 – I issued an Assembly Citation recognizing Ukrainian Independence Day in the 123rd Assembly District.
- August 24, 2023 – With Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball and others for the opening of the Voice of the Farmer exhibit at the NYS Fair.
