Assemblywoman Lupardo Announces $375k Grant for Visions Veterans Memorial Arena
Funding will improve fan experience with lighting and sound upgrades
Binghamton, NY – The Visions Veterans Memorial Arena received a boost as a result of funding secured by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.The $375,000 Assembly grant upgraded the lighting and sound systems within the Arena. Lupardo was joined by County Executive Jason Garnar, and Arena General Manager Chris Marion to make the announcement.
$325,000 of the grant went toward upgrading the Arena’s sound system. The remaining $50,000 enhanced the Arena’s lighting with modern and intelligent components that allow for better effects and lighting changes. These upgrades position Broome County to attract top talent with systems that meet modern performance requirements and expectations. The upgrades were installed prior to the start of the Binghamton Black Bears season.
Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo said, “The Visions Veterans Memorial Arena is a consistent driver of economic activity bringing thousands of people downtown for sporting events and performances. In order to continue to attract top talent for these events, upgrades were needed. I’m delighted to provide this support so the Arena can continue to be an attractive destination in Binghamton.”
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said, “The goal of the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena is to provide the best fan experience possible for every person who walks through the doors. Whether it's the Binghamton Black Bears, high school sports, live music, or family shows, having quality sound throughout the Arena is key for the spectators, athletes, and performers. Thank you to Assemblywoman Lupardo for securing this funding that will help us continue to attract high-quality entertainment for fans of all ages."
