Johnson City, NY – Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo joined Village of Johnson City Mayor Martin Meaney and other Village Officials to unveil vehicles and equipment purchased with a $600K Assembly grant secured by Lupardo.

The Police Department received: two vehicles (one undercover and one marked), building upgrades and station repairs, surveillance cameras, computers, and other equipment.

The Fire Department received: two vehicles, a rescue boat (on order), new fire hoses, extrication and rope rescue equipment, and other smaller items.

The Department of Public Works received: a tractor, an over the bank (flail) mower, and a brush hog.

The announcement comes ahead of an Open House being held at Village Hall on Saturday, April 27^th from 10AM to 2PM. This is an opportunity for the community to visit the Village’s new municipal offices as well as see some of the new equipment that will be on display.

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo said “Purchasing needed equipment and vehicles can be a financial struggle for small Villages like Johnson City. I am very impressed with how much the Village was able to purchase with this Assembly grant. For me, grants like these are a way to recognize and thank the hardworking people who serve and protect the public every day.”

Johnson City Mayor Martin Meaney said, “We appreciate all of the assistance Assemblywoman Lupardo has provided to our public works, police and fire departments. The equipment that was purchased with this grant will enable our departments to provide better services to our residents while making their jobs safer. Because of this grant we were able to purchase this equipment today rather than tomorrow at no expense to our residents. This is truly a prime example of a strong working relationship between State and Local Government.We are fortunate to have such a valuable asset and partner in Assemblywoman Lupardo.”
