New Stage Under Construction at Otsiningo

Lupardo secures grant for permanent performance space

Binghamton, NY – Coming this summer to a park near you: a new permanent performance space. Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and County Executive Jason Garnar announced details of a new stage at Otsiningo Park that is currently under construction. The project is supported by a $125,000 State and Municipal Facilities (SAM) grant secured by Assemblywoman Lupardo.

“Otsiningo Park is already a major destination for residents and visitors to Broome County,” said Assemblywoman Lupardo. “This new stage will attract a variety of performances from concerts and theater productions to events like ceremonies for local community groups and even weddings. I’m happy I was able to secure funding that will increase attendance at this beautiful park.”

“This project would not be possible without Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo,” said Broome County Executive Jason T. Garnar. “The new stage will be a great venue for our Broome Bands Together concert series and many more entertainment events and bring even more families out to enjoy one of our most popular parks, Otsiningo. Thank you to the Assemblywoman for securing the funding to make this happen.”

The 40’ by 20’ stage is already under construction and is expected to be completed later this summer. Public input helped guide the design of the project, which will include wood and stone to complement the aesthetics of the park. Otsiningo Park attracts thousands of visitors every year and is home to the annual Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally, walking trails, pavilions and picnic facilities, numerous ball fields and recreational sports leagues, playgrounds, and the popular Broome Bands Together concert series.
