Assemblyman Thiele Earns A 98% Rating from Environmental Advocates Action
Last week, Environmental Advocates Action, a state-wide organization advocating for environmental legislation, released the Assembly edition of its New York State Environmental Scorecard for the 2022 Legislative Session. The ranking is based upon seventy-seven bills introduced in the State Assembly that addressed issues of environmental justice, public health, clean water, clean energy and transportation emissions. Assemblymember Thiele, who earned a near-perfect score of 98%, either sponsored or voted in favor of twenty-six of these bills.
Assemblyman Thiele stated, “I am pleased to be recognized by Environmental Advocates Action for my work on the environment during the 2022 Legislative Session. I am proud to be a cosponsor of bills like the Build Public Renewables Act, the Geothermal Sales Tax Exemption, the Advanced Building Appliance Equipment Act, and many more. In the fight against climate change, protecting the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the health of our families is paramount for the future of Long Island, where our way of life is defined by our environment, and for the entire New York State. I look forward to continuing to pursue these goals on behalf of the first Assembly district and of all New Yorkers.”
