This compares with $7.06 million a year ago. The 11-month total for 2014 of $93.26 million is 12.6% higher than a year ago for the same period when $82.79 million was collected.
Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $978 million. The CPF expires in 2030. The CPF has generated $105.92 million over the last 12 months. Based on recent activity, CPF revenues are projected to exceed $100 million for 2014, the first time the annual total would exceed $100 million. Revenues for 2013 totaled $95.43 million.
Thiele stated, "The CPF continues to see steady growth in revenues, exceeding 2013 by 12.6%. 2013 was the second largest year for CPF revenues, exceeded only by 2007. For the first eleven (11) months, CPF revenues have been consistently above $7 million per month. In fact, November's total is the largest total of any month in 2014. This reflects the continued strength and stability in East End real estate and the continued availability to local Towns of the necessary revenues to protect community character. At the 11 month mark, CPF revenues in 2014 are on track to produce the highest annual total in the history of the program."
The number of transaction for the first eleven (11) months of 2014 totaled 6,189. Below are revenues for the first eleven months by Town for 2014 and 2013:
