Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues for 2015 Total $100.29 Million

CPF totals $100.29 million for 2015, compared with $107.69m in 2014; 2014 and 2015 represent the two highest annual revenue totals in the history of the CPF

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) produced $100.29 million in revenue for the Peconic Bay Region in 2015, the second highest annual total in history. 2014 was the highest annual total at $107.69 million. Revenue for 2015 is 6.9% lower than in 2014. Only the Town of Southold generated more annual revenue than 2014. Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.093 billion. Thiele stated, “It is clear that the real estate industry on the East End continued to be in a strong position in 2015. Town CPF funds should be flush with cash, allowing Towns to be aggressive in protecting lands for open space, farmland, parks and recreation, and historic preservation purposes. Further, we are now well positioned to extend the fund for an additional 20 years and add water to land preservation in our efforts to protect the East End’s community character. A referendum on the extension and water quality amendments could be held by the Towns in 2016.” Below are revenues by Town for 2014 compared with 2015 and the annual program revenues by Town since 1999 (table attached).
