Senator LaValle and Assemblyman Thiele Announce Partnership with Village of Sagaponack to Restore Historic Sagg Bridge
New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. and State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle today joined Sagaponack Village Officials to announce that they have secured a total of $500,000 through the State and Municipal Facilities Program to repair the historic Sagg Bridge in the Village of Sagaponack.
The Sagg Bridge Restoration project will include improvements to the drainage structure along the approaching road abutments, repairs to the causeway and seawall, structural repairs to the bridge structure, and improvements to the bridge deck including concrete/spall deck repairs, new curbing, sidewalks, bridge railing and asphalt pavement.
The entire Sagg Bridge Restoration project is estimated to cost nearly $900,000. The State Legislators would be contributing over half of the project cost, with the Village of Sagaponack contributing the remaining through their Capital Highway Reserve Fund.
Work is expected to begin in late 2016.
