Route 114 Project Moving Forward in 2016
Route 114 Paving from Route 27 to Stephen Hands Path to Begin This Construction Season
State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) today announced that he has been contacted by the NYS Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) on the status of the Route 114 project in East Hampton. In a letter dated July 22, 2016, the NYSDOT confirmed that the repaving of Route 114 between Route 27 and Stephen Hands Path “is included in a current paving contract and this is scheduled to begin this construction season.”
Thiele, together with State Senator Ken LaValle, continue to also pursue the re-pavement of the remainder of Route 114. The NYSDOT stated that “should additional priority paving funding become available, we will program a project at this location.”
Thiele stated, “We will need the approval of the Governor to make priority funds available for the remainder of Route 114. I plan to work with the Town of East Hampton, Village of Sag Harbor, and Village of East Hampton to lobby the Governor to make this project a priority.”
