Thiele Sponsors Small Business Week Resolution
Legislative resolution “Memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to Proclaim April 30-May 6, 2017 as Small Business Week in the State of New York”
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF, WE-Sag Harbor), Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Small Business, introduced a Legislative Resolution “Memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim April 30-May 6, 2017, as Small Business Week in the State of New York.” This Resolution was unanimously adopted by the New York State Assembly on April 24th.
Since 1963, the President of the United States of America has been highlighting the programs and services available to entrepreneurs through the U.S. Small Business Administration and other government agencies by proclaiming the first week in May as “National Small Business Week”. Assemblyman Thiele stated, “As Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Small Business, I am proud to sponsor this Legislative Resolution “Memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim April 30-May 6, 2017, as Small Business Week in the State of New York” in conjunction with National Small Business Week.”
According to Empire State Development, small businesses comprise 98 percent of all businesses in New York and employ more than half of our State’s private sector workforce. “Small business owners possess the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit to develop and market technologies that create jobs and contribute to our State’s long-term economic health,” Thiele said. “The future welfare of New York State depends on the continued development and growth of small businesses.”
