Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues for January 2017 Total $6.94 Million
Monthly revenues decrease by 22.2% over January 2016
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) produced $6.94 in revenue for the Peconic Bay Region during January 2017. This compares with $8.92 million during January 2016. This is a 22.2% decrease from 2016 for the month. Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.194 billion. Thiele stated, “Real estate sales on the East End have plateaued since reaching a record high in 2014. CPF revenues in 2016 were 13% lower than the program’s highest year in 2014, declining by about 7% a year over the last two years. The first month of 2017 continues that trend. Revenues are substantially lower than a year ago. The decline is most pronounced on the South Fork.” Below are revenues by Town for January 2017 compared with January 2016.
