Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues are $50.17 Million for First Half of 2018 Compared with $49.29 Million in 2017

Revenues are 1.8% HIGHER than last year; Cumulative CPF revenues total $1.333 billion

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that 2018 revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first six months produced revenue of $50.17 million. A year ago $49.29 million was collected for the same period, or 1.8% percent MORE than last year. June revenues totaled $9.64 million. CPF revenues for the same month last year were $11.23 million. Since its inception on 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.333 billion. The CPF has generated $96.78 million in the last 12 months. Thiele stated, “It has been widely reported that real estate sales and prices are down on the East End in the second quarter, in the wake of the federal tax changes at the end of 2017. However, the market is a complicated one. The level of CPF revenues is largely driven by the high end of the market, especially on the South Fork. It is clear that the high end of the market continues to be strong.” Below are revenues by Town for the first six months of 2018 compared with 2017.
