2019 revenues were $23.94 million in 2019, compared to $31.6 million in 2018; Revenues were still 24.2% less than last year for the first 4 months
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) today reported that 2019 revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first four months were $23.94 million, 24.2% LOWER than the first four months a year ago, when $31.6 million was collected. April 2019 revenues totaled $7.4 million, the highest month total yet for 2019, after several months of disappointing revenues.
Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.406 billion. The 2% tax under the CPF expires in 2050.
Thiele stated, CPF revenues had declined for three consecutive months. April marked a return to revenues more in line with the last few years. However, local government officials should continue to closely monitor CPF revenues in the coming months and be cautious in making any long term projections.
