Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues are $144.74 Million for First Eight Months of 2021 Compared with $72.26 Million in 2020
Revenues are 100.3% HIGHER than last year; Cumulative CPF revenues total $1.745 billion
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first eight months of 2021 produced revenue of $144.74 million. A year ago, $72.26 million was collected for the same period, or 100.3% percent MORE than last year. August revenues totaled $13.45 million. CPF revenues for the same month last year were $11.16 million.
Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.745 billion. The CPF has generated $211.9 million in the last 12 months.
“Revenues for the CPF in August 2021 are higher than a year ago. This marks the 13th straight month that revenues have exceeded $10 million per month. However, it is also the lowest monthly total since September of 2020. It had been recently reported by many in the real estate industry that because of declining inventory and rising prices, new contract activity had slowed over the summer from pandemic highs. This is reflected in the August revenue numbers but still represents a high level of real estate activity across the East End.”
