Giglio Supports Community Youth Flag Football Tournament: ‘We Huddle for Hunger’

Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) is proud to support the upcoming “We Huddle For Hunger” Youth Flag Football Tournament, a community-driven event that aims to tackle hunger in our community. Sponsored by the Riverhead Rotary and News 12, this event brings together local youth, families and organizations to raise awareness and support for food pantries in the Riverhead area.

The tournament, set to take place on Saturday, Nov. 9th, at Stotzky Park Fields 1 & 2, promises a fun-filled day with flag football games and charitable giving. Registration for participating teams begins at 10 a.m., with games scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I am so excited to see our community come together for such a worthy cause,” says Giglio. “Events like ‘We Huddle For Hunger’ showcase the power of local organizations and residents working together to support those in need. I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the games and contribute to this cause.”

In partnership with Mark “MK” McLaughlin, the Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force, the Riverhead Police Athletic League and the Riverhead Recreation Department, the event organizers are asking each team to contribute canned goods as an entry fee. All donations will go directly to local food pantries, helping to ensure no family in Riverhead goes hungry this season.
