Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) Statement on Assembly Budget Proposal

Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) today responded in frustration after voting against the state Assembly’s budget resolution.

The resolution is the first public presentation of priorities that Assembly Majority lawmakers, who are the sole authors of the resolution, want to include in the final state budget.

Giglio notes that this is a state budget “wish list” by Assembly Majority, and this year’s resolution was abundant in new taxes and record state spending.

“Long Island families are already struggling with high property taxes, rising energy costs and the increasing prices of everyday necessities. Instead of throwing more money at our current problems hoping for a quick fix, the Majority should be focused on responsible spending and policies that ease the burden on taxpayers. We deserve a budget that prioritizes affordability, not one that makes it even more expensive to live here.”
