Assemblyman Giglio Announces Public Information Meetings In Salamanca
Meetings to address the availability of funds for environmental projects
Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R, C, I – Gowanda) today announced that a public information meeting will be held in Salamanca on March 28th. The meeting will feature discussions on the availability of funds for environmental projects funded under the Environmental Protection Fund, the Clean Water/Clean Air Bond Act, and the Land & Water Conservation Act.
The meetings will include workshops on application requirements and procedures for the following programs: Parks, Historic Preservation and Heritage Areas, Local Waterfront Revitalization, Brownfield Opportunity Areas and Environmental Restoration. Information will also be available from the following: Quality Communities Program, Department of Agriculture and Markets, the New York state Canal Corporation, and the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Assemblyman Giglio noted that pre-registration for the workshops is free and the due date for completed applications for grants is May 26, 2006.
“These public information meetings are important because New York state offers a variety of funding for environmental projects,” said Giglio. “I urge all community groups or persons who are interested in creating an environmental project to attend the public information meeting in Salamanca to learn more about these opportunities and also to learn about the proper methods for completing applications for grants.”
