Blankenbush Reacts to Tenth Budget Extender Following Governor Hochul’s ‘Claimed’ Budget Agreement
A Statement by Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C-Black River)
“Today marks the tenth budget extender, and once again, New Yorkers are left waiting while Albany continues to operate in the dark. Earlier this week, the governor claimed a budget agreement had been reached — but clearly, that was not the case. The people of this state deserve transparency and accountability, not political spin and stalled negotiations.
“We are a full month past the deadline, and there is still no final plan to address the real issues facing our communities — rising costs, crime and crumbling infrastructure. Instead of delivering solutions, this administration is stringing along local governments, school districts and working families who are trying to plan their futures.
“Enough is enough. The Governor must stop misleading New Yorkers and deliver a responsible, on-time budget that reflects the priorities of the people, not the politics of the moment.”
