Blankenbush Honored with Distinguished Insurance Service Award
Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C-Black River) was honored with the Distinguished Insurance Service Award from the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. (PIANY) during the organization’s annual business meeting in Albany.
The award recognizes an individual with a history of significant contributions to and support for the regional insurance community. Blankenbush was recognized for his longstanding work on insurance issues and his years of service on the New York State Assembly Standing Committee on Insurance, where he has served as ranking minority member.
Before entering public service, Blankenbush built a career in the insurance industry. He began working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1976, eventually becoming branch manager of its regional Watertown office before founding BEL Associates, his own insurance and financial services business.
“I am deeply grateful to PIA New York for this award and for the partnership we have shared over the years,” said Blankenbush. “Public service eventually comes to an end, but the obligation to leave our communities stronger than we found them must endure. I am proud of the work we have done together and deeply honored by this recognition.”
PIANY presented the Distinguished Insurance Service Award as part of its annual Awards of Distinction. The organization represents independent insurance agents across New York and provides education, advocacy, industry information and business resources to its members.
