Blankenbush Takes Top Post on Insurance Committee

Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) was placed on several committees for the upcoming legislative session in Albany, along with being named to Minority Leader Will Barclay’s leadership team as an assistant minority leader. Blankenbush will serve on the following committees: Agriculture, Corporations, Authorities and Commissions, Energy, Rules and the Ways and Means Committee. Additionally, Blankenbush will serve as the ranking Minority member on the Insurance Committee.

“I look forward to serving on a wide range of committees in the upcoming session. By sitting on a number of these powerful committees, it will ensure that North Country and Mohawk Valley voices will be heard,” said Blankenbush. “Serving as ranking member on any committee is a great honor and becoming the ranker on the Insurance Committee is something I will take great pride in. I will be able to bring my years of experience and knowledge within the insurance industry to the table. Owning an insurance agency has been a huge part of my professional life.

“It will also be great to return to the Agriculture Committee. Farming and agricultural services are at the heart of our region’s economy. I will continue to advocate for our hardworking farmers on this committee as I have every year since I was first elected to the Assembly.”
