Chang: Current CBD-Product Regulations Are Not Strict Enough
Assemblyman Lester Chang (R,C-Brooklyn) attended a press conference in the state Capitol earlier today alongside Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead), Sen. Dean Murray (R,C-3rd Senate District), members of the Assembly and Senate Minority Conferences and members of the Longwood Public School Public Safety Committee. Their mission was to call on the New York state Department of Health to reevaluate current CBD-product regulations which are far too lax in properly conveying when CBD is present in a product.
“It’s the responsibility of the state to effectively monitor CBD-based products since their legalization,” said Chang. “While cannabis can now be purchased legally by responsible adults, children and teens remain vulnerable. Making CBD-product packaging very clear and not marketing such products toward New York youth should be top priorities in the eyes of state lawmakers.”
