Chang: Crime and Education Have not Been Addressed in the One-House Budget

A statement from Assemblyman Lester Chang (R,C-Brooklyn) on the 2023-24 One-House Budget Proposal

“I was greatly disappointed by the inadequate attention given to bail reform and education choice in the state budget, as these are crucial issues of concern for New Yorkers. It is vitally important that we address these matters, given that all New York students deserve access to top-notch educational options, including charter schools, and all New Yorkers should feel secure when venturing outside their homes or riding the subways. To effectively address the surging crime rates and cater to the needs of the younger generation, we must allocate sufficient funding without driving away the higher-income earners in our state through even more excessive or ‘progressive’ taxation.”
