Assemblywoman Buttenschon Seeks Nominations for National Correctional Officers and Employees Week Awards

As we continue to combat the ongoing public health crisis, its more important than ever to recognize the work of those who are putting their lives on the line protect our communities, said Buttenschon. Since 1984, the first week of May has been dedicated to recognizing correction officers and employees and thanking them for the difficult and often dangerous work that they do. Its important that we recognize and honor these brave workers, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
