Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) partnered with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and Vischer Ferry Volunteer Fire Company Station #2 for a drug take-back event today. This is the first of three recycling events in her annual spring cleaning series. The free event allowed residents of the 112th Assembly District to safely dispose of their unused, expired and excess medications as well as sharps.

“This event plays a crucial role in preventing unused medication from falling into the wrong hands. The community’s overwhelming support and participation speaks volumes—during the three-hour event, we collected eight boxes of unneeded medications and three boxes of sharps, all destined for the Drug Enforcement Administration office for proper disposal. By safely discarding outdated medications, we mitigate the risk of accidental ingestion by children or pets and ensure these unneeded medications do not fall into the wrong hands.”

Walsh will be joined by EWASTE+ for an Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Saratoga County Building parking lot. The third and final spring cleaning event will be held at Dockstader Recreation Park, where Walsh will be joined by 3N Document Destruction for a Shredding Event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
