Walsh Rallies with Highway Employees

Today, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I-Ballston) joined New York highway workers to rally for an increase of funding to the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS). CHIPS provides state funds to various areas throughout the state for roads, bridges and highway projects.

“Our roads, bridges and highways – much like our state – are in need of repair. I stand with the Assembly Minority Conference and call for a $150 million increase in CHIPS funding per year over the next five years and the restoration of Extreme Winter Recovery,” said Walsh. “It was a pleasure meeting with the hardworking men and women who attended the rally today, and I hope this event will enlighten the governor to deliver funding to this much-needed program.”
