Assemblyman Burke and Assemblymember Wallace Express Opposition to Green Light Bill
In a statement expressing opposition to the Drivers License Access and Privacy Act (A.3675-A), otherwise known as the Green Light bill, Burke and Wallace call on federal government to find solutions to immigration system.
The Green Light bill is flawed legislation that we cannot support and will therefore be voting no when it comes to the Assembly floor, said Assemblyman Patrick Burke and Assemblymember Monica Wallace in a joint statement.
New York State is not in a positon to solve every failed policy of the federal government, added Burke.
Immigration is a federal problem that needs a federal solution. We urge Congress to work toward finding a national solution to this national problem, continued Wallace.
In the meantime, we will continue to focus our energy on addressing state issues to find solutions that improve the lives of our constituents and all New Yorkers, concluded both Burke and Wallace.
