Assemblyman Ramos Delivers Love and Gratitude to Local Veterans
Assemblyman Phil Ramos (D-Central Islip), Chairman of the NYS Assembly Veterans committee delivered over 600 Valentine’s Day cards this morning to veterans at the New York State Veterans’ Home on Long Island. Assemblyman Ramos sponsored the program, which invited school aged children to create Valentines for local veterans.
“A hand-made Valentine is a heartfelt and thoughtful way to bring joy to the brave men and women who have served our nation,” Assemblyman Ramos said. “By having local children create these cards, the program helped raise awareness among our youth about the sacrifices our veterans have made, while honoring them for their service.”
As the new chairman of the Veterans committee, Assemblyman Ramos wanted to organize the program to honor local veterans. The students’ cards helped remind veterans of how much Suffolk County families appreciate all they have done for our country, added Assemblyman Ramos.
