Palmesano And Nojay Welcome Area Student For An Up Close Look At The NYS Assembly
Assemblymen Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) and Bill Nojay (R,I-Pittsford) recently welcomed Evelyn Piatt of Arkport Central School to the Assembly for a firsthand look at the inner workings of the NYS Assembly. Miss Piatt, who is from the 133rd Assembly District which is represented by Mr. Nojay, joined Palmesano for the entire day.
Evelyn attended numerous meetings Palmesano had with individuals, groups and organizations from throughout his district and state to discuss many of the pressing issues facing state leaders. She also joined the assemblymen on the floor to see the floor proceedings and witness several legislative debates, including the Assembly’s Minimum Wage legislation.
“It was great to have Evelyn with us for the day,” the lawmakers said in a joint statement. “We hope she enjoyed her experience and was able to take away some valuable insight about what a day in Albany can be like for a member of the New York State Assembly.”
