Palmesano Honored as a Friend to Farmers
Palmesano again included in New York Farm Bureau’s “Circle of Friends”
Based on his legislative actions and tireless advocacy on behalf of family farmers, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) has been selected to the New York State Farm Bureau’s “Circle of Friends.”
It is the fifth consecutive year he has received the prestigious designation.
Palmesano has consistently voted for sensible tax and regulatory reform to help family farms stay competitive in an evolving market place.
“Assemblyman Palmesano was chosen for his commitment to the hardworking farm families in New York. He understands the importance of agriculture to the people of his district, and how farming significantly impacts the economy of this great state,” said Dean Norton, President of New York Farm Bureau.
“Agriculture is New York State’s biggest business and one of our greatest traditions,” said Palmesano. “Ensuring our family farms can continue producing fresh, quality products for New Yorkers is one of my top priorities during the legislative session. I’m honored to be considered such a good friend to the Farm Bureau, and I look forward to partnering with them moving forward,” added Palmesano.
Palmesano noted his gratitude to all of the members of his Agricultural Advisory Committee, a group of agricultural industry leaders from the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions. “The insight they provide me is invaluable, and I take it with me to Albany,” said Palmesano. The group recently hosted New York State Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard Ball.
“I will continue to work to ease the tax and regulatory burden that is placed on our family farms,” said Palmesano.
