Palmesano Reminds Area Students, Families of Scholarship Opportunity

Partners with fellow members of New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators, reminds students that the March 29 application deadline is approaching.

Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) and his fellow members of the Conference of Italian-American State Legislators are reminding students and families in their communities about the availability of applications for their annual scholarship program.

Four scholarships will be awarded, each totaling $3,500. Two will be awarded based on academic achievement and two will be athletic scholarships.

“So many families are struggling to pay for college, and so many of our young people are saddled with burdensome student loan payments after they graduate. A scholarship can help make higher education a less stressful reality for talented kids who have studied hard, impacted their communities and achieved great things," said Palmesano.

The deadline to apply is the close of business on Friday, March 29. Students residing in the 132nd Assembly District can receive a scholarship application by contacting Palmesano’s office at (607) 776-9691.

“We want to help students realize their dreams and access the higher education that will help power them to a rewarding career. I’m proud to be a member of the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators. We’re a bipartisan group working to improve our communities while celebrating our shared heritage,” said Palmesano.
