Palmesano Praises Designation of Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery as New York State’s First State Veterans’ Cemetery
“It is great to learn that the governor’s Oversight and Selection Committee unanimously selected the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, New York, Seneca County, as the state’s first veterans’ cemetery. Thank you to the Seneca County Board of Supervisors, the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery Citizens Committee, chaired by former Sen. Michael Nozzolio, our veterans and all those who dedicated so much time and worked so hard to advocate for and support this designation. The land upon which Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery is located is hallowed ground and will continue to serve as a special, fitting and final resting place for the brave men and women of the military who served to protect us and our freedoms,” said Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning).
