The following statement was issued by Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright regarding the resignation of Attorney General Eric Schneiderman:

"I was saddened, shocked and outraged to learn of the disturbing allegations made against AG Schneiderman last night. My heart goes out to the four women who came forward and bravely shared their stories. Although his resignation is a welcome step, we owe it to these women to fully and completely investigate their claims. We must eliminate the culture of violence against women and to do that, we need an Attorney General that can be trusted to lead and who works hard to enforce the law and protects our right to live without fear."
