‘The Gray Area’ Talks Local Roads
Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) is releasing the fourth episode of ‘The Gray Area’ video series. In this week’s episode, Gray discusses his support for the ‘Local Roads are Essential’ coalition. The coalition is calling on the governor to boost funding for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) by $200 million and the Emergency Winter Recovery (EWR) program by $70 million. Over 600 highway superintendents from across the state joined Gray and his legislative colleagues for a press conference on Wednesday.
“Local governments need assistance from the state level in road maintenance and upkeep,” said Gray. “Thank you to all the highway superintendents who made the trip to Albany this week. We sent the governor a loud and clear message that local roads are essential, and they should be adequately funded in the final budget.
“It was another great week in Albany working on behalf of the residents in the 116th Assembly District. Three weeks to go before the April 1 budget deadline.”
