'The Gray Area' Discusses Priorities for 2025
Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) released the latest episode of “The Gray Area” video series. In this week’s episode, Gray reflects on the past year and outlines his agenda for 2025, emphasizing priorities that address the unique needs and values of the North Country.
“As we enter 2025, I want to take a moment to thank the individuals and organizations who have met with me over the past six months. Your willingness to share your insights, challenges and ideas has been invaluable,” said Gray. “Listening and learning from you is how I can best represent our district in Albany. My job is to learn every day how to advocate for the needs of the North Country more effectively. Looking ahead, my agenda for 2025 is focused on priorities that reflect the values and needs of our community.”
Assemblyman Gray’s 2025 priorities include:
- Public Safety: Addressing the ongoing impacts of the migrant crisis, which continues to present financial and security challenges for communities across the region.
- Child care: Expanding access to affordable child care to support working families and enable workforce participation.
- Education: Advocating for flexibility in schools by promoting resource-sharing initiatives that respect district autonomy and supporting reasonable policies, such as limiting cell phone use during class rather than imposing outright bans.
- Economic Opportunities: Ensuring the region is positioned to maximize the benefits of Micron’s transformative development project.
- Balanced Energy Policy: Supporting an energy strategy that balances environmental responsibility with affordability and respects personal choice over mandates.
“Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me to represent you. I remain committed to working on solutions that improve the lives of everyone in the 116th District. Look out for next week’s episode of The Gray Area as we continue to update you on what you care about. We always appreciate the opportunity to serve you and to work with you. Don’t hesitate to call my office staff with questions, comments or concerns—see you soon,” Gray concluded.
