Assemblyman Scott Gray Announces Approved Library Construction Grants For 116th Assembly District
The New York State Education Department and the New York State Library have approved 212 library construction projects across the state, supported by a $44 million capital appropriation included in the FY 2024–2025 State Budget.
Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) supported the budget bill that allocated funding for seven projects within the 116th Assembly District across Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties. These libraries received approval through the State Aid for Library Construction program, totaling $703,339 in state support.
“Public libraries are a community point of pride, anchors serving residents of all ages with education, workforce tools, technology access and gathering space,” said Gray. “These awards will help local libraries modernize facilities, improve energy efficiency, expand services and better meet community needs. Support for this capital funding was included in the enacted budget, and continued investment in public libraries remains a practical, high-return commitment to the community.”
