Hawley Rallies for Further Local Road Investment
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) rallied today with Assembly and Senate Minority colleagues in the call for an increased allocation of funds for local roads as part of this year’s budget. Local roads are often in disrepair and require support from the state to help with maintenance and management, and Hawley believes the budget can allocate for it.
“Our local roads are the bridges of our society, and they need support to be properly maintained,” Hawley said, “I am imploring the Legislature and the governor to consider an additional $200 million for local road maintenance and an additional $70 million for Extreme Winter Recovery. With all that this state spends, we should be spending enough to ensure our infrastructure is of the highest quality.”
