Hawley Highlights Homegrown Businesses in Western New York
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) visited several businesses throughout the community last week, including Lapp Insulators, Craft Cannery, CooperVision and Aluminum Injection Mold Co. Hawley first visited Lapp Insulators, a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-voltage insulators with operations in over 70 countries. Next, Hawley stopped by Craft Cannery to tour the facilities with owner Paul Guglielino. Guglielmo started the business in 2016, moved into their Bergen plant in 2019, and purchased it in 2020. The company's success is a testament to their ownership's hard work and dedication to making a quality products for the community.
Later in the week, Hawley toured CooperVision’s facilities. CooperVision’s manufacturing facility in Scottsville recently completed a 5,500-square-foot expansion and invested in new technology to support current and future growth. This facility is also powered by 100% renewable energy. These enhancements increased product manufacturing capacity and shortened order fulfillment times, benefiting made-to-order lenses like Biofinity® Toric Multifocal and Biofinity® XR Toric. Together with the global packaging and distribution center in West Henrietta, the facilities produce, process, and ship contact lenses to customers all around the world. CooperVision’s commitment to workforce health and safety and sustainability is evident at the site, and it has achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification.
Afterward, Hawley visited Aluminum Injection Mold Co. in LeRoy. Aluminum Injection Mold Co. was founded in 2002 and is an industry pioneer in providing creative production aluminum molds and plastic injection molding solutions to a wide range of markets including lawn and garden, medical, business machine, pet, telecommunications and consumer products. Aluminum Injection Mold Co. moved to its current location in Leroy in 2011, and since then it has been able to see tremendous growth in its workforce and production capability. Because of Aluminum Injection Mold Co.’s extensive knowledge base and experience in aluminum machining and molding, it is able to provide full, turnkey service, from part concept to final molded parts.
Hawley is proud to highlight these local businesses and looks forward to seeing the impact they will have on the region for years to come.
“Local businesses are the backbone of our state,” said Hawley. “From creating jobs to boosting the economy, homegrown industries are a vital part of Western New York. I want to thank Lapp Insulators, Craft Cannery, CooperVision and Aluminum Injection Mold Co. for inviting me to tour their facilities, and I look forward to seeing how they will continue to grow and impact the region in the coming years.”
