Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) Statement on CHIPS Press Conference

“In rural communities, roads and bridges are lifelines. They connect farmers to markets, businesses to customers and families to essential services. CHIPS funding ensures that our local governments have the tools they need to keep those lifelines strong.

“For too long, Albany has placed additional financial pressure on municipalities while costs continue to rise. Sustained and increased CHIPS funding helps ease that burden and protects local property taxpayers.

“Infrastructure is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. I will continue advocating for funding levels that reflect the real costs our towns and counties face every day.”
