Hawley To Hold Second Forum On Gun Laws
Assemblyman seeks to spread awareness about changes in law
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) is set to host his second public forum on New York’s new gun laws, which were enacted earlier this year. The event, taking place on Monday, October 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Albion Middle School, will provide residents with an update on deadlines, court rulings and other details regarding the legislation affecting their Second Amendment rights.
“As time has passed since the SAFE Act was forced through the legislature and onto law-abiding gun owners, many questions about the bill’s effect on Second Amendment rights remain,” said Hawley. “This event will give our community a chance to review the amendments made to the law since it was first passed and the many legal challenges that have been mounted, along with the legislation I’m co-sponsoring to fully repeal the disastrous bill. The first forum we held on this subject produced thoughtful insight and astute questions, and I hope we have another great turnout to bring local gun owners up to speed on these new laws.”
