Hawley: New Veterans Cemetery In Genesee County Is A Fitting Memorial For Local Veterans
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) is very pleased with the announcement of a new cemetery for veterans in Genesee County, calling it a proper memorial for local veterans and their families. The cemetery will be located in Pembroke at 1232 Indian Falls Road and gives veterans and their families a more local option for burial. The cemetery’s location between Rochester and Buffalo will allow it to service families from both locations.
“A local veterans’ cemetery is great news for the people of Western New York. Families of our deceased veterans will now be able to visit their loved ones’ resting places with more ease,” said Hawley. “As the ranking minority member of the Assembly’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee, one of my top priorities is to look out for the interests of our nation’s veterans. On behalf of all the veterans in Western New York, I thank everyone who worked on this plan. The new cemetery will be a place to remember those who protected the freedoms we cherish.”
